    A Blue light filter decreases the amount of blue light displayed on the screen of the device. Blue light can suppress the production of melatonin (sleep-inducing hormone), so filtering it out can help you sleep better. It will also reduce digital eye strain, so your eyes won’t feel so tired by the end of the day.

    How to install.
    1. Open Terminal Emulator
    2. sudo add-apt-repository ppa:nathan-renniewaldock/flux
    3. sudo apt-get update
    4. sudo apt-get install fluxgui

    I just ran into a problem with it not loading properly. I fixed it by doing the following.

    2. redshift -l list
    3. redshift -l geoclue2
    4. Open f.lux indicator applet
    5. Click …

    6. After you do the above, you should see the text popup in the Terminal Emulator program. It should show your location.

    If the above does not work, you can try this.

    1. Open Terminal Emulator.
    2. sudo apt-get install redshift-gtk
    3. exit

    Make sure to remove f.lux if you didn’t.

    Blue Light Filter on Wayland

    $ sudo apt install gammastep

    $ gammastep -O 4500 &

    To disable, just run

    $ gammastep -x

    Note: You can add items to your panel by adding two new items to the panel. One for off and one for on, to make it more convention.
