Do you need to use
adb connect
if the device is USB connected?
Also, I’m using the Android Studio SDK to emulate a platform similar to my phone on my laptop. It seemed that I was able to seamlessly execute
adb backup
and
adb restore
commands with various flags just by having the device on usb (or for lack of a better term, “local” to the environment.)
Any thoughts? Sorry, I am kind of an android noob. I haven’t messed with any of this stuff since rooting my android 2.0 phone many years ago.
