I recently got one of these devices for my desktop, and it was giving me an issue in Linux. I fixed it by making a startup command that would reboot it on the system login.
Name: Reboot Scarlett 2i2 [Custom]
Description: This will reboot the device.
Command: scarlett2 reboot
Trigger: on login
GUI install: https://github.com/geoffreybennett/alsa-scarlett-gui
