I was struggling to get touchscreen working on Linux. I had the drivers working, by default, and the screen would take the finger press, but it would not be accurate. Likewise, I fixed it by doing what is in the picture. Note that I have two touch displays and I had to use the xrandr command to find the display names. You might have to install it, as it is not installed by default.
