I was running into a game that I was trying to run in Wine. The game would change my resolution of my monitor and become much larger than the screen. I fixed it by doing the following.
Note: This can work on other Linux distributions, but some terminal commands might not work, and you will have to manually open the programs in your applications menu.
$ winetricks --gui

$ xfce4-display-settings
Find the resolution of the monitor you are using to play the game in, and change it in the Wine Configuration Desk size.

Apply the settings in the Wine Configuration window and set your game to the right resolution, after you open it.
